<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time for communication of data of large capacity by separating each layer header of the OSI(open system intercommunication) from the data to deliver these headers on the different wavelengths respectively and performing the batch optical exchange operation via a wavelength dividing/exchanging means. CONSTITUTION:A frame dividing means 1 divides a data frame of the OSI into six headers of layers 2-7 excluding the physical layers and one data part. These headers and the data part are delivered on seven different types of wavelengths lambda1-lambda7 respectively. Thus a wavelength dividing OSI optical packet exchange 2 can perform approximately the batch optical exchange. As a result, a header processor 3 can process the headers individually and the internal delay time of a packet network can be shortened.</p> |
