In an embossing apparatus comprising a stamping head 13, a heating head 14, a stamping plate 15 an engraved-plate holder 16 and a counter holder 19, the stamping assembly 10 is moved by engagement of cam follower roller 18 with a cam 5 (having faces 5c, 5e, 5d), the cam 5 being given translating motion by reversing solenoid 1 operating on a bar 2. Cam 5 runs with its top surface 5b against freely rotatable counter-pressure rollers 7. Stamping assembly 10 is mounted for sliding motion on guide rods (9, Fig. 2) and is restored after each stamping motion by springs (12). Embossing foil 20 is provided between plateholder 16 and counter-holder 19. |
