The security display case for articles of value (11) includes an upper tray (2) with a number of holes (3). Each item is attached to the tray by an insulated conducting wire (7) passing through one of the holes in the upper shelf. Each wire is held under spring tension, and has a contact which is arranged to touch a lower shelf (5) to make connection (6) in order to complete an alarm circuit. If any of the wires are broken, the circuit is interrupted, and the alarm (13) is set off, deriving power from the battery (12). USE - Display cabinet from items such as jewellery, watches, rings etc.
