A front end loader (30) is detachably mounted on a tractor (10) by rear and forward connecting structures (32, 34). The rear structure (32) includes a bracket (90), attached to the tractor (10), which has a slot (120) for receiving a pivot pin (40) attached to the loader (30). The slot (120) has an entry portion which is slightly inclined upwardly from its opening through which the pin (40)enters the slot (120). The entry portion (40) communicates with an operative portion (126) which extends steeply upwardly. The pin (40) is trapped in this operative portion (126) of the slot (120) by a spring loaded block (146) when the loader (30) is mounted ready for working. On entry into the slot (120) the pin (40) pushes the block (146) rearwardly and passes into the operative portion (126) whereupon the block (146) returns under its spring loading (148) to its original position thus barring the pin (40) from leaving the operative portion (126). When required a handle (158), rigid with a cam (174) and connected pivotally to the block (146), can be turned to move the block (146) against its spring loading (148) and thereby to release the pin (40) for dismounting the loader (30). |
