PURPOSE:To cleanly and efficiently treat garbage independently of the properties, compsn. and amt. of the garbage and the presence of foreign matter by using an apparatus composed essentially of a tubular treatment chamber, a movable bottom forming the bottom of the chamber and a rotatable piston capable of closing the garbage feeding hole. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for treating garbage is composed essentially of a tubular chamber 4, a movable bottom 5 forming the bottom of the chamber 4 and a rotatable piston 6 capable of closing the garbage feeding hole 2 and a crushing edge 7 is fitted to the surface of the piston 6.
