In a tractor change-speed transmission and power take-off, three nested friction clutches 14p, 14r, and 14v are engaged by hydraulic pistons 8 and are mounted on coaxial shafts 15p, 15r, and 15v, the shaft 15p driving the power take-off, and the clutches 14r, 14v being alternatively engaged for forward and reverse motion of the tractor. As shown, shaft 15p carries a bevel pinion 28p meshing a bevel 32 on the power take-off shaft 33. Similarly, shafts 15r, 15v carry bevels 28r, 28v meshing a bevel 29 on a shaft 30. The shaft 33 drives a power take-off shaft (56), Fig. 1 (not shown), through a known hydraulically controlled variable belt and pulley gear, the shaft (56) also driving a second power take-off shaft (3) through known toothed gearing. Shaft 30 drives an intermediate shaft (51) through an hydraulically controlled variable speed belt. and pulley gear, and the shaft (51) drives a rear wheel differential through a changespeed chain gear. The shafts (51) and (56) may be clutched together at (58). The clutches are controlled by three spool valves (42p), (42r), (42v), Figs. 9-11 (not shown), positioned by two manual levers (44), (46). The spools (42p), (42v) may be mechanically interlocked. Lever (44) actuates spools (42r), (42v), one spool being locked in its neutral position when the other is moved into its clutch engaged position. Again, Fig. 13 (not shown), the three shafts (15p), 15r), (15v) carry sprockets (66p), (66r), (66v) of a chain gear driving the input shafts of hydraulically controlled variable-speed belt and pulley gears for the power take-off and tractor transmissidn. Again, Fig. 4 (not shown), a doubleacting piston (84) is moved in opposite directions to engage alternatively clutches 14r and 14v.</p> |
