PURPOSE:To prepare a catalyst of low temperature and superior exhaust gas purifying performance by including Pd, Rh, active alumina, a cerium compound, a strontium compound and a zirconium compound on a carrier of integral structure. CONSTITUTION:A carrier of integral structure of a metallic oxide with resistance to heat such as cordierite, alpha-alumina or the like and a foaming material of honeycomb shape or with threedimensional network constituted of a refractory metal such as an iron base alloy with resistance to heat or the like is used as a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine of an automobile or the like. Slurry including Pd, Rh, active alumina, a cerium compound, a strontium compound and a zirconium compound is adhered to said carrier and calcined. The catalyst thus prepared is of superior exhaust gas purifying performance under the low temperature. |
