PURPOSE:To prevent a picture display from becoming unnatural by constituting the colors of the picture elements at the rightmost and leftmost ends of each picture element line of blue at which the Y-viewing sensitivity which is a reference of the brightness sensed by the eyes of human beings is the smallest. CONSTITUTION:The picture elements at the rightmost and leftmost ends of each picture element line 1a-1c, for example, the picture elements 3 and 4 of the picture element line 1b are provided with color filters for blue. In the picture element line 1b picture elements 5 and 6 respectively provided with color filters for green and red are succes sively arrayed following the leftmost picture element 3, with these three color primaries being arrayed periodically as the three color primaries in one cycle, and the rightmost picture element is the picture element 4 provided with a color filter for blue. In such delta-like picture element array, the rightmost and leftmost sides are constituted of blue picture element rows to which Y-viewing sensitivity is the smallest among the three color primaries. Therefore, the coloring phenomena at the outermost sides become inconspicuous at the outermost sides only even in an intermediate tone display of grey-colored display, etc., at which an uneven display is the most recognizable and a natural and excellent displaying grade can be obtained. |
