<p>1316604 Oxidation catalysts BAYER AG 8 May 1970 [23 May 1969] 22322/70 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C1 and G1] Supported catalysts are produced by suspending a silica-containing filler and a clay mineral in a stable aqueous silica sol, mixing the resulting suspension with an aqueous suspension of hydrated magnesium oxide, dispersing the resulting gellable mixture in a waterimmisible liquid and recovering solid beads, drying the beads, hardening them for at least 10 min. at a temperature in excess of 500C, treating with an acid, washing, impregnating with an alkali metal vanadate solution and drying the impregnated beads, the beads being heated for at least 10 min. at a temperature in excess of 400C either after the acid treatment or after the impregnation. The silicacontaining filler is an amorphous silica containing 5-10 wt % CaO and having a specific surface of 40-80 m<SP>2</SP>/g obtained by slow acidulation of an alkali metal silicate solution containing a calcium salt.</p> |
