The process is carried out by means of a lining tube which is manufactured from a nonwoven, is drawn into the pipeline in the collapsed state, is impregnated by means of synthetic resin and pressed onto the inner surfaces of the pipeline by using a pushed-in calibrating (sizing) hose. The synthetic resin then hardens. The object of the invention is to carry out the impregnation of the nonwoven layer in the interior of the pipeline, which is to be repaired, such that the process can also be used for repairing pipelines which exhibit bends, offset portions or other irregularities in the flow cross-section. The object is achieved according to the invention in that a metered quantity of synthetic resin (20) is guided through the lining tube by means of a calibrating hose (24), which can be pushed into the lining hose (3), or between two calibrating hoses (24, 29), the impregnation of the lining hose taking place and being terminated by pressing the calibrating hose (24) onto the inner side of the lining hose (3). The synthetic resin then hardens. The process according to the invention can be used in the area of civil engineering which deals with laying and maintaining buried pipelines. <IMAGE>
