PURPOSE:To miniaturize and simplify the structure by forming a dielectric layer for coming into contact with the outside periphery of a photosensitive body on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, on the outside periphery of a conductive layer of a developer carrying body. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric layer 12 opposed to the outside periphery of a photosensitive body 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed is formed on the outside periphery of a conductive layer 11 of a developer carrying body 6. Accordingly, when the developer carrying body 6 rotates, film thickness of a developer 4 is determined as prescribed by a developer film thickness setting member 7, and in this case, the developer 4 is electrified to desired polarity by friction of the developer carrying body 6 and the developer film thickness setting member 7, and at this time, the dielectric layer 12 quickens the electrifying action, and also, holds effectively charge. In such a way, a developer stirring device and a device for making a mixing ratio of a toner and a carrier constant are omitted, and the structure can be miniaturized and simplified. |
