A fitting assembly for a cylinder lock (5) mounted on a lock housing (6) comprises two mutually separate sections, namely a body (2) having an escutcheon or an end plate (2a) and two parts (2b) which extend along the cylinder lock, these parts having a circular-sector profile for instance, and a flanged barrel (3) which surrounds the body. The body is secured to the housing (6) by means of screws (7). If an attempt is made to break away the fitting or its anchorage by force with the aid of a suitable tool, the outwardly located barrel (3) will rotate relative to the body (2), therewith rendering the attempt ineffective. The barrel also offers protection against drilling of the lock in an attempt to force an entry. <IMAGE> |
