PURPOSE:To surely and accurately set the position of a ring piston by switching and controlling a changeover valve based on a deflection between a detected position signal from a position detecting sensor in the roll axial direction and a setting signal. CONSTITUTION:The detected signals detected by piston position detecting sensors 61, 61', 62, 62' for inside and outside pistons are introduced into a control device 69 through slip rings 68 to be compared with a set position signal 71. When a difference is found in the value, a control signal 70 is outputted to perform switching and controlling of solenoid valves 66, 66' and servo valves 67, 67' and to control to make the positions in the axial direction of the ring pistons 45, 45', 46, 46' to become the set positions. By this method, the positioning of the ring pistons is surely and accurately performed and a fine profile control of the rolling roll is performed. |
