PURPOSE:To easily measure the quantity of a fatty acid by fixing thiokinase and acyl-coenzyme A oxidase to an enzyme electrode. CONSTITUTION:The enzyme electrode 4 is constituted by disposing a cathode 6 to the bottom of a vessel 5, filling an electrolyte 7 into the vessel, disposing an anode 8 in the electrolyte 7 and further coating the cathode 6 with a diaphragm 9 for the enzyme electrode. The diaphragm 9 is fixed by an O-ring 3 to the vessel 5. A membrane filter (enzyme membrane) 1 is absorbed and fixed with two kinds of the enzymes; thiokinase and acyl-coenzyme A oxidase. The filter 1 is disposed on the surface (rear) of the diaphragm 9 so as to face the lower part of an electrode 4; i.e., the rear of the cathode 6 and the outside thereof is coated and supported with and by a supporting material 2. The material 2 is fixed by the O-ring 3 to the vessel 5 from the outside of the diaphragm 9. The quantity of the fatty acid is easily measured by constituting the sensor in the above-mentioned manner. |
