PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for discriminating the head position of each color region, by detecting the change from the third color to the first color of an ink paper through detecting a black leading mark by a color discriminating means, and feeding the ink paper to the head of the second or third color through a feed quantity measuring means. CONSTITUTION:A black leading mark 25 as well as a yellow(Ye) region 17, a magenta(Mg) region 18 and a cyan(Cy) region 20, separated from each other respectively by transparent parts 21-24, are provided on an ink paper 2 successively in the feeding direction 26 of the ink paper 2 so that the three color regions 17, 18, 20 constitute a printing frame. When the black leading mark 25 is detected by an LED 12 and a sensor 14 during when the ink paper 12 is fed by taking up around a take-up shaft 9, a predetermined amount of rotation of a clock plate 36 provided on a payout shaft 8 is detected by an LED 37 and a clock sensor 38, thereby positioning the first color (Ye) region 17 to a thermal head 4, and after printing in Ye, the Mg region 18 and the Cy region 20 are sequentially positioned in a similar manner. Thus, the need for a discriminating sensor for the head position of each color region is eliminated, and construction can be simplified. |
