PURPOSE: To obtain exclusive thermal conductivity by preparing a mixture which consists of dimethyl siloxane for the greater part, consists of diphenyl siloxane and vinyl siloxane of specific values and a free radical initiator in addition thereto. CONSTITUTION: A polymer which consists of dimethyl siloxane repeating units for the greater part and is dimethyl siloxane repeating units, consists of 5 to 15mol% diphenyl siloxane repeating units and >=0 to <=5mol% vinyl siloxane repeating units and has a weight average mol.wt. of 300000 to 500000 is prepd. The mixture consisting of the free radical agent useful for crosslinking this polymer by the vinyl part in addition to the polymer described above is prepd. Next, the covering of the mixture is formed on the outside surface of a core of a cylindrical shape under heating. Further, the covering is heated to perfect the crosslinking of the polymer by the vinyl part. As a result, the roll having the characteristics good in hardness, elasticity, compressibility and tensile strength is obtd. |
