<p>A turbo-supercharger for use on internal combustion engines having a scroll casing of improved design, valve means, and means for activating the valve means, to thereby regulate flow of exhaust air within the scroll passages of the scroll casing and thus improve the efficiency of the turbo-supercharger at low engine r.p:m. such scroll casing has a partitioning plate dividing the scroll passage within the scroll casing into two subpassages. Valve means, and means for automatically opening or closing such valve means as a function of sensed turbine inlet pressure, are used to improve the efficiency of the turbine at low r.p.m. by restricting the exhaust air flow to one of the scroll sub-passages at low engine r.p.m.</p> |
