In a permeable sieve-drum for, preferably, the heat treatment of textile goods, non-wovens or especially paper, the drum outer surface consists of a honeycomb structure, which is produced from axially aligned sheet-metal strips, which are unbent and extend essentially in the radial direction, and have next to them in each case zig-zag-shaped bent sheet-metal strips. The connections at the intersections with the linearly aligned sheet-metal strips is achieved by means of rivets. These rivets can also be replaced by screws. For uniform contact of the radially external wire fabric, it is expedient to produce both types of sheet-metal strips, i.e. the linearly formed and zig-zag honeycomb-shaped bent sheet-metal strips, from sheet-metal strips of equal width; however the parts of the honeycomb-shaped bent sheet-metal strips which abut the linearly aligned sheet-metal strips should be of reduced external diameter, and, to be precise, only over the length of the part of this honeycomb structure arranged in parallel, so that at these intersections a reduction of the air penetration cross-section by the external diameter is avoided. <IMAGE>
