PURPOSE:To prevent a scavenging port from loading by opening the scavenging port to the leading side of an exhaust port and the trailing side of an intake port to controllably supply air to the scavenging port within a light load region and fuel cut running region. CONSTITUTION:A rotary piston engine 1 is formed in a side housing with a scavenging port 21 at the exhaust port 7 side position from a short shaft between an intake port formed in the side housing and the exhaust port 7 formed in a rotor housing. This scavenging port 21 is connected through a substitution air path 25 to a first change-over valve 26 interposed in a discharge path 24 of an air pump 23. In low load low speed region including idling time and deceleration fuel cut region is opened the first change-over valve 26, and air is controllably sent to the scavenging port 21 through the substitution air path 25. Particularly the scavenging port 21 is prevented from loading due to carbon or the like by air supply in the deceleration fuel cut region. |
