In false twisting and false ply crimping of man-made fibers, the running yarn is looped once via a rotary roller (9) the axis of which is inclined to the yarn run. The roller has the form of a curve which is convex in relation to the axis and serves as the generatrix. The angle of inclination of the axis of the roller to the yarn run can be adjusted by swivelling the false twist roller about an axis (12) perpendicular to the axis of the roller. To ensure optimal twisting conditions at all adjustable inclinations, the position of the swivel axis and the shape of the contour line are so matched that the wind-on point of the yarn on the roller (9) remains constant whatever the inclination of the roller. |
