PURPOSE:To improve the air conditioning effect of the air conditioner and to save power by a method wherein in the air conditioner capable of performing an automatic and selective air conditioning operation through a duct on the spot, the existence of a human being in an air conditioning region is detected and cool air is distributed into the region when the human being is in the region. CONSTITUTION:When the existence of a human being is detected by a supersonic wave transmitting and receiving device A10a, a signal is inputted to a reference voltage generating circuit 57a from a detecting signal receiving circuit 56a and a reference voltage A is inputted to a comparison circuit 58. The comparison circuit 58 compares a voltage corresponding to the position of a window of a drum 6 and generating from a potentiometer 27, with the reference voltage A and the result of comparison is outputted to a motor drive circuit 30 so as to rotate the drum 26 until the output of the potentiometer 27 becomes equal to the reference voltage A. With the above structure, it is made possible to supply cool air selectively into the air conditioning region in which a human being lives, to improve the air conditioning effect of the air conditioner and to save power. |
