PURPOSE:To enable a single cam shaft properly disposed to drive intake and exhaust valve in respective cylinders and an unit injector and further a valve gap of the intake and exhaust valves to be adjusted. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 1 is provided coaxially with a fuel cam for driving a unit injector 6 and an intake and exhaust cam for driving an intake and exhaust valve 8, and parallel to this cam shaft are provided a ruel valve arm shaft 5 and an intake and exhaust valve arm shaft 3. These shafts 1, 5, 3 are all supported on a cylinder head 11 by an identical support bed 13. Also, the lower portion of the intake and exhaust cam on the cam shaft 1 contacts a sliding pad 9 provided on the intake and exhaust valve arm 2 supported on the intake and exhaust valve arm shaft 3 to swing said arm 2 so that the intake and exhaust valve 8 is opened and closed. |
