PURPOSE:To obtain a filter material having high adsorbing capacity, by kneading gamma-manganese dioxide with an acidic solution containing an ion of Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, Cd, Sr, Al or Bi and granulating the resulting kneaded mixture. CONSTITUTION:gamma-manganese dioxide or a Mg-ion is kneaded with an acidic solution containing an ion of Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, Cd, Sr, Al, Bi, Sn, Cr, Li or Na and the resulting kneaded mixture is granulated. Subsequently, the granulated mixture is heat-treated for 1-3 day while the heated one is immersed in the acidic solution containing the aforementioned metal to be treated at 90 deg.C or more. Next, the granulated material is washed with water and neutralized by using a neutralizing agent such as caustic soda. |
