摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent disorder of arrangement and breakage of packed particles due to variation in temp. by forming the shape and their arrangement in such manner that particles packed in an upper section of a reformer are not fallen into a lower space of the reformer even when a sectional area of a packed bed between a reforming pipe contg. heat conducting packed particles and a sleeve pipe is increased by the effect of thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:An outside pipe 2a and an inside pipe 2b constituting a reforming pipe 2 construct a concentric double pipe structure with a reforming catalyst bed 3 interposed therebetween, forming a return path 13 at a top 12 of one end thereof so as to pass fed fuel gas introduced into the outside pipe being converted to reformed gas when passing through the bed 3 and being sent out through the inside pipe. Further, in a vessel 1 of the reformer, plural numbers of the pipe 2 protected by a sleeve pipe 19 are arranged to locate their heads 12 of the return path in a combustion chamber 7. And the shape and arrangement of packed particles are constituted in such manner that the particles packed in the upper section are not fallen into the lower space even when a space is formed between packed particles and pipe wall by the increase of sectional area of the packed bed formed between a reforming pipe 2 contg. heat conducting packed particles 9a in a heat conducting packed bed 9 and the sleeve pipe 19 by the effect of thermal expansion.
