PURPOSE: To display a 3-dimensional scene with a method providing a transparency and having advantage of elimination of hidden planes by means of a depth buffer by storing separately a foreground color and a background color and combining them so as to generate output picture element data. CONSTITUTION: A key board 1 and a graphic digitizer tablet 2 provide entry to a CPU 3 by the user. A disk memory 4, a ROM 5, a RAM 6, a processing hardware 7 and a drawing hardware 8 are connected to the CPU 3 via a bus 3A. The drawing hardware 8 is used to combine a foreground color and a background color to generate output picture element data and to delete hidden planes. The picture element data stored in a RAM 9 are controlled by a timing unit 10 and fed to a display screen 11 via a mixer circuit 12 and D/A converters 13R, 13G, 13B. |
