PURPOSE: To remove an internal bead from a junction of pipes made of plastic or the like by driving a cutter by means of a feed screw slidably mounted on a motor shaft arranged in a body member held within a pipe by support means and of a drive means engaged with the feed screw. CONSTITUTION: A housing 1 is provided with a clamp block 23 held slidable by pins 24 and with two sliding plates 28 via a support member 29. The housing 1 is inserted in a pipe in a coaxial relationship therewith and is slid to a weld bead position at a junction between pipes. At the bead, the openings of collecting hooks 22 are moved to the bead and cutting edges 21 are forwarded to crush the bead, during which pressure fluid is supplied to a cylinder 25 in the clamp block 23 to position the housing 1 with accuracy. A hydraulic motor 2 rotates a cutter support rod 13 via a feed screw 7 to rotate the edges 21 about the pipe wall, during which the feed screw 7 moves forward the edges 21 via a feed screw ring 8. The weld bead is thus cut off and is collected by the collecting hooks 22, after which the housing 1 is retreated. |
