A forceps for telescope crowns has at least one handle (1) which permits application of a traction force and on one free end of which there is arranged a spreading device for engagement on the inner surface (8) of the inner crown (9), which can be transferred into the spread position or the initial position via an adjustment member, especially a second handle. The spreading device is designed as a spreading head (3) and has one or more spreading elements (4) of an elastic material which come to bear on an area on the peripheral surface or part of the periphery of the inner surface (8) of the inner crown (9) in the spread position. <IMAGE>
