Provided is a coating composition comprising inorganic oxide microparticles containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Sn and Sb, an organosilicon compound containing a hydrolyzable group, and a surfactant (C1) having an HLB value not exceeding 8 and a surfactant (C2) having an HLB value exceeding 8, and for forming a coating layer having minimal opacity, outstanding appearance, scratch-resistance, chemical-resistance, boiling water resistance and weathering resistance, on the surface of a plastic optical substrate. |
