The tunnel 18 of a catamaran, designed for high speeds, has a nozzle-shaped profile having, at the inlet, an air collector 22 of convergent shape, in the middle a substantially constant cross-section 24, and at the rear a deflector 26 for deflecting the air downwards. The tunnel 18 participates in the lift of the catamaran without the risk of the nose lifting up. The bottom of the hulls 10 has, on its rear part, orifices 40, 42 which come out of the water when the front of the catamaran lifts off excessively to allow decompression of the tunnel 18 by lateral escape of the air. <IMAGE>
