APPLICATION PROGRAM INTERFACE AND OPERATION OF INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To adjust plural application programs(AP) using a full screen I/O by adding an AP interface to an information processing system including one application program or over conducting I/O operation for a display device. CONSTITUTION: An AP in its operation gives a request of a specific function to a macro of an operation console function 6, the macro generates a parameter list generating instruction required for the request function and allows an SVC to take control over a DMSCCSVC and processes the request. On the other hand, the AP makes an open request to set up a communication path with a display device 7. The path and information of the display device 7 are kept in a control block and used for I/O operation. Part of the information is extracted and stored in a buffer offered by the AP. Then the AP generates a valid data stream to the display device 7 to control data processing and formatting. The DMSCCSVC checks a parameter and generates information required for I/O operation in response to a request of valid I/O and the operation console function 6 writes full screen data to the display device 7.
