PURPOSE:To omit labor of selecting orientation manually other than a paper feed means, by automatically indicating orientation to either one of a portrait and a landscape when a specific paper feed means is selected. CONSTITUTION:By providing a paper feed means, a printing means having two orientations of a portrait and a landscape and a control means for automatically indicating the orientations to either one of the portrait and the landscape when the above mentioned paper feed means is selected, labor indicating orientations manually other than the paper feed means is omitted. For example, the orientations can be indicated by a paper feed change-over switch 10 and, when an envelope feeder is selected as a paper feed mode at the time of an emuration command, the orientations are set to the landscape. |
