The appts. includes an anvil (35), a feeding unit (10) having a turret (12) transporting a holder (1) containing a neck (N), an intermittent driving unit (20) having a timing cam (27), and a cold pressure welding unit (30) which has two-port valve (33) controlled by the timing cam and has a double acting cylinder (31) with a piston for pressing a race (4) which contains a face plate (F) and target ring (T). The cold pressure welding is achieved by the plastic deformation of indium predeposited inside of the target ring when the piston (31e) presses the race into the holder containing the neck. After pressing work, the next holder and the race are fed to the working position by the intermittent rotation of the turret.
