<p>A pole support device (2) comprising an upper socket portion (6) and a lower portion (4), the lower portion (4) being buried in the ground adjacent to a pole (18) to be supported, the upper portion (6) receives the lower end of a pole which has been severed just above ground level. The upper portion includes a frusto-conical surface (8) for supporting the lower end of the cut pole and fixing means are provided to fix the cut end of the pole to the upper portion (6).</p> |
