Guttapercha rubber has the same properties as an air-inflated inner tube, enabling uneven surfaces to be negotiated without discomfort to the cyclist. The rubber insert has dimensions which permit, when inserted in the tyre, that it occupies the same volume as a conventional inner tube in the inflated state. - The insert is suitably divided with a cut at right-angles to its central line, the two ends thus obtd. fitting well against each other. E.g. the one end can be somewhat convex and the other correspondingly concave, or the one can have a recess into which fits a pin on the other. |
