Paper sheets (78) are half folded sequentially and nested using apparatus including a buckle chute folder (66), the folder having a first pair of feed rollers (68, 70) rotatable at a given velocity, and a device (10) for continuously feeding the paper sheets in shingled relationship at a second velocity greater than the given velocity to the feed rollers. The shingled relationship is defined by an overlap of the sheets of about one quarter but less than one half of the length of the sheets.
