In the case of a sample plate holder, it is possible, in order to permit the simultaneous holding of a plurality of sample plates (9) and joint insertion of the latter into the interior of a container (19), an elongated support (3) which forms a removal channel (2) is provided at its front end in the pushing-in direction with a head piece which supports the sample plates (9) and at its opposite end with a fastening device (14). It is possible to push through the removal channel (2) a removal rod (21) with a coupling device which can be made to engage with the sample plates at its front end in the pushing-in direction. <IMAGE>
