PURPOSE:To perform intermittent restraining and conveying of bar-like bodies alternately and to improve the level of hardening quality with simple operations by providing a movable member having plural projections and a conveying member having plural tooth parts, and cooperating the projections and the tooth parts. CONSTITUTION:Heated bar-like bodies are placed on the arm parts 24 of a lower supporting member 19. as a movable member 13 descends, the bar-like bodies move to the sloped parts 32 of a conveying member 30 and abut on projections 35. Upon the next ascending of the member 13, said bodies transfer again onto the member 19 and after they are supported in recesses 27, the member ascends. In the next descending stage, the bodies transfer onto the member 30 and abut at the rear end of the tooth part 34 which is the 1st from the rear of saw tooth parts 31. On the next ascending of the movable member, the bodies move along the top surfaces 23 of the projections 22 and are sandwiched between the lower supporting part 21 and the upper supporting part 20. Thereafter the bar-like bodies are transferred and received alternately between the member 29 and the conveying member according to the vertical movements of the member 13, whereby the bar-like bodies are moved by each step. Since the mutual sliding parts of the member 13 and the member 12 are located on the top surface of a quenching medium, the hardening is effected smoothly. |
