<p>Cross-wound bobbins can be moistened automatically by steaming during their transit from manufacture to packaging. After removal from the cross bobbin winder, the bobbins are fitted with steam-permeable perforated tubes (12) and stacked in bobbin columns on a pallet base (1). As each pallet is filled, the tube cavities of all bobbin columns are connected to a steam feed pipe. During steaming, all the columns grouped on the pallet base can be axially compressed.</p> |
