PURPOSE:To obtain high tilting angle by incorporating a high polymer which is easy to decompose and evaporate by heating at the time of dehydrating ring closure, in a polyamidic acid which dissolves in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:The polyamidic acid dissolved in a solvent, is applied on a substrate, and then heated, thereby dehydrating and ring closing said polymer to form a polyimide film which is used for an orientation film. And, the high polymer compd. which is soluble in the solvent and decomposes and evaporates by heating at the time of dehydrating ring closure is incorporated in a polyamidic acid solution. The usable high polymer compd. is necessary to be a substance which is soluble to a solvent of the polyamide solution and decomposes and evaporates by heating at the time of dehydrating ring close, and the compounding amount of said high polymer is preferably 5-50wt.% based on the total amount of a solid matter.
