PURPOSE:To perform high-speed picture magnifying/contracting processing with use of an OR method in both horizontal and vertical directions, by expanding the unit processing bit width by 2 bits to secure inter-word continuity and at the same time applying an OR to pattern data on two lines also in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:The pattern data is read out of an original image every (n+2) bits when the image is magnified and contracted by m/n times (m, n: integer). In case of 3/2 times, for example, it is required to refer to four nearby dots in the original image with an OR method. Therefore two bits of both ends are added to conventional two bits and these four-bit data are defined as input bit widths. Thus a destination data 205 can be written in consideration of the horizontal environment and by reference to a magnification/contraction pattern table 106. As a result, the complete magnifying/reducing processing is attained by the OR method together with the vertical magnification/contraction. Then an image can be magnified and contracted at a high speed in both horizontal and vertical directions by the OR method. |
