PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor and an image forming apparatus which has a high image density, has no fogging, has no image blur, and is free from failures such as dash mark, black spot, scuffing, transfer memory, and film peeling, even in a repeated use over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is characterized in that a binder resin in a plurality of charge transfer layers is made of a copolymer having units different from one another and common units and a charge generating layer contains metal phthalocyanine pigment, in an organic photoreceptor made by forming at least an intermediate layer, the charge generating layer and the plurality of charge transfer layers on an electroconductive support.
