This invention relates to a kind of novel decorative paint which is prepared by penetrating a paint having high transparency into fine metal strips each having diffraction gratings pressed on both surfaces thereof. When the rays of light is applied to it, rainbow-like rays of light having a rich gradation appear on a product painted with this paint and the colors change with changing positions or angles of view, thus giving people an impression as if it were luminous and moving about. The present invention has physical diffraction optics characteristics which are for superior to those of presently available paints and its decorative effect does not change conspicuously in the course of long outdoor use. Therefore, the invention can be used widely as a decorative paint for various high-class products. |
