PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic sensitive material with superior color reproducibility and superior light fastness of a magenta dye image by incorporating a specified magenta coupler and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of magenta coupler represented by formula I and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II are incorporated. In formula I, Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a hetero ring contg. N, X is H or a substituent which can be released by a reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and R is H or a substituent. In formula II, each of R<3> and R<4> is H, alkyl, etc., and R<5> is a substituent. The compd. represented by formula II is a 2-piperazinone type compd., acts as a magenta dye image stabilizer and is effective in preventing not only the fading of a magenta dye image due to light but also the discoloring of the image due to light. Thus, the fastness of a formed magenta dye image is improved and the discoloring and fading of the image due to light are inhibited. |
