POLYDIMETHYLSILOXANES HAVING IMPROVED THERMAL STABILITY Silicone compositions having improved thermal oxidative stability are disclosed. The compositions contain iron acetylacetonate, nickel acetylacetonate, cerium acetylacetonate, alpha,omega-bis(trimethylsiloxy)polydi-methylsiloxanes, and optionally, a carboxylic acid. The compositions show greatly increased time to gellation at temperatures of, e.g. 275.degree.C. The silicone compositions of the invention are useful in heat transfer, as fiber lubricants, and as high temperature lubricants. |
