The invention relates to a mechanical power transmission making it possible to vary the speed in 5 steps without declutching over 3 ranges and to distribute the power to 2 driving axle assemblies. The device according to the figure consists of an elastic coupling 150 which, by means of a gearing set 151 delivers the power to the input of the box of planetary gear sets 152 which consists of a planetary gear set 154, 155, 156 and 157 which are mutually connected and can be engaged successively onto a receiving bell housing 158 making it possible to obtain the desired ratios. The receiving bell housing 158 transmits the power to one range box 153 with 3 ratios selected by synchronised dogs. The receiving shaft 161, connected to the satellite-gear carrier of the differential, distributes the power equally onto the front axle assembly shaft 159 and the rear axle assembly shaft 162, it being possible for the assembly to be joined by the dog 160. The device according to the invention is intended for the transmissions of agricultural or civil engineering works vehicles. <IMAGE>
