The bearing comprises a cross member arranged essentially horizontally and transversely to the longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle (1), which cross member comprises a leaf spring (8) with self-damping sprung in a vertical direction, which is rigidly fixed to the underside of the transmission (5) and both ends (10) of which are connected to the frame side members (9) of the vehicle (1). The leaf spring (8), by virtue of its elasticity, prevents the transmission of vibrations of the drive assembly to the vehicle frame and absorbs the longitudinal forces occurring on the drive shaft (7). The bearing is characterised by ease of assembly and a low weight. <IMAGE>
