PURPOSE:To improve the space efficiency and the reliability between respective members by providing a stopping device which is driven when brake does not function on an operating knob or in a tubular shaft section. CONSTITUTION:A push rod 15a of a solenoid 15 is at a projected position when the solenoid 15 is not driven, and contacts with the end face of a release button 4 to disable the release button 4. It goes to a retracted position when the solenoid 15 is driven and separated from the endface of the release button 4 to enable the release button 4. The solenoid 15 is driven when a shift lever 1 is at the parking position and the foot brake is not stepped thus disabling brake.
