In a pneumatic multicolour loom, that weft colour (18') which, owing to its large weft repeat, need not be inserted for a long period and whose free end is damaged by the support air stream in the insertion nozzle (36), is inserted with an overlength (L1) equal to the length of the damaged thread section within the nozzle (36).
