PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of rolling, by a method wherein, in a suspension device the ground clearance of which is regulatable, lateral acceleration is estimated from a steering angle and a car speed, and through computation of a roll angle and a change in length of a hydraulic cylinder, a target feed and discharge amount of each cylinder is calculated to control a feed and discharge. CONSTITUTION:A car speed from a car speed sensor 13 and a steering angle from a steering angle sensor 12 are inputted to a controller 11 to estimate lateral acceleration. Based on the lateral acceleration, a roll angle and a change in length of each of hydraulic cylinders 3a-3d for respective wheels are determined. Based on the change in length, a target amount fed and discharged to and from each of the hydraulic cylinders 3a-3d, required for stabilization of orientation of a car is decided. After lapse of a given time commencing with control of steering, oil feed and discharge means 7a-7d are respectively controlled according to the target feed and discharge amount. A change in length of each of the hydraulic cylinders 3a-3d is detected by means of a ground clearance sensor to feed back the detecting result for control. This constitution enables reliable prevention of the occurrence of rolling. |
