PURPOSE: To produce a flocked fabric excellent in hand and feel and having good water repellency by contacting a flocked surface of a flocked fabric made of natural or synthetic fiber with a specific organic silicon compound plasma to form plasma polymerized thin film. CONSTITUTION: The method of this invention is to place a flocked fabric made of natural or synthetic fiber (especially preferably polyamide, polyester or polyacrylonitrile fiber) in an apparatus where monomer vapor of an organic silicon compound having siloxane bonds (preferably a cyclic organosiloxane compound) is introduced, and plasma is generated under conditions of 0.01-100 toll reduced pressure and 10-500 watt impressed voltage to uniformly form a plasma polymerized thin film on the flocked surface of the flocked fabric down to the root part of each flocked fiber. Thus, a flocked fabric having excellent water repellency and soft and smooth feeling is produced without impairing the outer appearance of the flocked fabric in comparison with a case by a method of conventional wet processing. |
